About the Grove

Hey! I'm Angela!

Gladys Grove is a creative studio dedicated to the blend of professional digital arts and the wonderfully tactile world of handmade crafts.

My creative journey began with a lifelong passion for making things—
starting with elementary school drawings, my Etch-A-Sketch and Lite-Brite and quickly evolving through every craft imaginable. We're talking jewelry, knitting attempts, clay, and now, settling (at least for a moment!) into the soothing, symmetrical joys of contemporary crochet and macrame.

I have spent over 25 years navigating the ever-changing digital arts industry. I hold a BFA in Multimedia Design, which means I have a deep knowledge base in graphic design, web development, audio, and video. After decades in the digital trenches, I can confidently say I know my way around a bezier curve—and how to mute a Zoom call.

But here’s the kicker: I never let go of my first love, the satisfyingly analog world of handmade goods.

At Gladys Grove, these two worlds don't just coexist; they throw parties together. I speak fluent Hex Code, but I’m just as fluent in yarn weights. My background in design principles and color theory is the secret sauce that ensures every macrame knot and crochet stitch is intentional, polished, and looks like it belongs on a gallery wall (not just a granny square). Conversely, the meditative process of crafting helps me de-stress, find endless inspiration, and avoid screaming at my computer screen.

I'm currently immersed in sharing my latest cozy creations from the world of fiber arts, and I’m looking forward to finally living out a childhood dream of selling my creations at art fairs.

It’s a bit like having a BFA in both Photoshop and Potholders, and I’m thrilled to share this perfectly strange and beautiful creative convergence with you. So have a look around at my digital design portfolio and services and well as my Etsy shop and blog where I will share my latest creations!
